ARS Nova, LLC was founded in 1997 by Sarah Schaffer, assistant to internationally-acclaimed composer John Harbison, for whom she manages commissions, performances, residencies, recordings, and publications. She earned advanced degrees in music theory and musicology from Indiana University, and is active as a freelance cellist in the Madison area.
